Part-time Home Support Worker
(privately managed)


Seeking a female home care worker to support a 40 year old woman. She lives in her own home in the west end of St. John’s, NL (near the Village Mall). The job requires some physical lifting, specifically during transfers in and out of wheelchair. Also the job requires a valid driver’s license as the individual has her own wheelchair accessible vehicle, but can’t drive herself. But mainly, the job requires helping her to live independently by supporting her in everday activities: house cleaning and chores, meal preparation, laundry, running errands, grocery shopping, personal care, etc.

Hourly Rate of pay:
$17.05 plus 4% vacation pay/hr

Shifts:
• Every second Saturday day shift (930am to 930pm) and every second Sunday overnight shift (930pm to 8am). Both shifts fall on the same weekend
• opportunity to pick up other shifts on a call-in basis when other support staff need time off

Dependability, reliability, good work ethic, and a compassionate, understanding personality is very important in this type of job. This individual needs someone to be on shift at all times – not showing up for shifts, giving short notice that you can’t make it, or frequently asking for time off is not acceptable.
