Big Leaf Maple Burl Jewelry Box
An absolutely stunning jewelry box, a true gem of the forest. This unique live edge jewellery box has been hand crafted on Mayne Island by woodworker Robert Andrews. It is made out of a Big Leaf Maple burl - burls are sometimes called jewels of the forest because of their rich texture of wood grains and patterns. This large wood burl box features the natural burl formations and the rich figured maple patterns. It has taken years for this burl to grow to this size and beauty. This is a mega-jewelry box like no other.
The interior space is 17" in length x 6” to 7 1/2" in width x 4 3/4" deep with natural wood interior sides.
To accommodate your jewelry collection there are two removable trays: a 3/4" deep tray with 8 small compartments suitable for rings and earrings. The second tray is 1 1/2" deep with 4 compartments. Below the second tray is an additional 1 3/4" deep of open storage space with the floor covered in a brown faux fur lining.
The underside has a leather covering for furniture protection.
This is the largest of a family of boxes.
