Job Summary
Alberta Wall Systems Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator specializing in masonry, stucco, EIFS, and cladding systems for commercial and residential construction projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing tender documents, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting project planning to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Prepare quantity take-offs for masonry, brick, block, stone, stucco, EIFS, and cladding systems
Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals
Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and management during bid preparation
Identify project risks and recommend cost-saving opportunities
Maintain estimating databases, pricing records, and supplier relationships
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required
Assist with change orders, project costing, and budget tracking
Qualifications
Minimum 2–3 years of estimating experience in construction preferred
Experience in masonry, stucco, EIFS, or cladding systems strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of commercial and residential construction methods
Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with estimating software is an asset
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Valid driver’s license is an asset
