This is a complete set of 33 volumes titled The Universal Anthology.
Printed in 1899 by The Grolier Society with a limited printing of 500 sets.
There are 16 books which are comprised of 2 volumes in each book.
The 17th book is the index of the previous 32 volumes.
Excellent original condition.I don't think they have been read.
All are the hardcover version and were issued without dust covers.
Numerous illustrations throughout.Some are steel engravings,some are photos
of famous art,artists,philosophers etc.
They cover Ancient History,as well as Medieval and The Middle Ages,up to the (then current) 1890's.
