T.A. Excavating Ltd. is a local Excavating & Utilities Placement company specializing in earthworks / underground utility installation of Gas, Electrical, Water and Fiber/Telecom - serving Lethbridge, Calgary and Southern Alberta, for 40 years.
We are looking for competent individuals who will contribute to our team of dedicated personnel by bringing their experience and high-quality workmanship to every project.

POSITION: CONSTRUCTION LABOURER
PROJECTS: Utility Installation – Fibre
PROJECT LOCATION: Calgary
APPROX START DATE: Immediate

RESPONSIBILITIES
• General construction activities, heavy labour
• Inspect, clean and refuel crew vehicles
• Load and unload equipment, materials and tools from vehicles and trailers
• Collect and dispose of scrap and excess materials in accordance with our environmental policies
• Perform thorough pre-use inspections on vehicles and equipment
• Attend safety meetings and participate in hazard assessments
• Must be able to communicate effectively; verbally, written and hand signals
• Other duties as required


REQUIREMENTS
• CSTS Certificate
• Valid Driver’s License- must be able to provide driver’s abstract
• Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects (50lbs)
• Ability to work independently with good problem-solving skills
• Must be willing to perform all construction duties assigned
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as project requires
• Performs pre trip inspections and daily/ongoing job task hazard assessments
• Be able to pass employment drug screening test, if required

ASSETS
• Previous work experience in areas of underground utility construction, excavating or landscaping
• Experience using F Series Digitrac Locating units
• Safety Tickets (First Aid, Ground Disturbance, etc)
