Description
Hello. We are looking for a Mixer to work in a bakery. Experience is required. This is a heavy-duty position, must be comfortable with heavy lifting (up to 70lb)

Requirements
• Previous experience in a bakery, food production, or commercial kitchen environment
• Strong understanding of measuring, scaling, and mixing processes
• Ability to follow detailed recipes and production instructions with high accuracy
• Comfortable operating commercial mixing equipment
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role (lifting, standing, repetitive motion)
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Handler Certification an asset)
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Must speak English

Duties and Responsibilities
• Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to standardized recipes, formulas, and production schedules
• Prepare large batches of doughs, batters, frostings, mousses, fillings, and other bakery components
• Follow recipes with precision while understanding how ingredient ratios, temperature, and mixing times impact final product quality
• Operate commercial mixing equipment safely and efficiently, including planetary mixers and large-scale production mixers
• Monitor mixing processes to ensure proper consistency, texture, and development (e.g., gluten formation, emulsification)
• Adjust mixing techniques based on environmental conditions, ingredient variations, and production needs
• Portion and scale mixed products accurately to meet production specifications and yield targets
• Support downstream production including shaping, proofing, bake-off, and staging as required
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and allergen control standards
• Label, date, and store ingredients and finished mixes properly
• Maintain clean and organized workstations, mixing areas, and equipment
• Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate shortages or quality concerns
• Assist with receiving and organizing raw materials as needed
• Support recipe testing, product development, and scaling of new items for production
• Work collaboratively with Bakers, Production Teams, and Supervisors to meet daily output targets
• Perform heavy lifting (50lbs ), repetitive tasks, and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Follow all health & safety procedures and proper equipment handling protocols
• Additional duties as required
This is a temporary role that can lead to a permanent position
Shift Time: 10:00 AM start time
Shift days: 42.5 hour paid work week, with 1 weekend and 1 weekday off
Pay: To be discussed during interview
