The Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Lawn Maintenance Crew Lead to join our team immediately. As our Crew Lead, you will be the point person in the field, directing a small crew to execute daily maintenance routes on our condominium and commercial property sites in NW Calgary. You will be responsible for ensuring all work meets our high-quality standards, managing equipment, and maintaining clear, proactive communication with management. This is a year-round position that transitions from lawn and grounds maintenance in the warmer months to snow removal in the winter.
Key Responsibilities
-Crew Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of maintenance workers to ensure daily routes are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
-Seasonal Maintenance: Perform and oversee lawn maintenance, spring cleanups, fall cleanups, and winter snow removal on commercial and condominium sites throughout NW Calgary.
-Site Tracking: Input daily information into our field management software, including time on site and photo documentation of completed work.
-Quality Control: Maintain a strong attention to detail across all properties, ensuring every site meets Bugaboo's standards before leaving.
-Communication: Provide timely daily updates to management — reporting on progress, site issues, crew concerns, or any equipment requiring attention.
-Equipment Management: Safely operate and perform basic preventative maintenance on landscaping and snow removal equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in a supervisor or crew lead role in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract -- must have a reliable personal vehicle to get to our shop near Bearspaw.
- Strong verbal communication skills; ability to keep management informed proactively.
- Ability to make sound decisions in the field and resolve issues independently.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and maintain equipment is a strong asset.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive Wages: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour, based on your experience, supervisory ability, and mechanical knowledge.
