Licensed Carpenter – Site Supervisor & Mentor (Moncton Area)
1-Year Contract (Renewable) Anticipated Start Date: Early July 2026

This role plays a vital part in empowering both the families who will achieve the dream of safe, affordable housing and the next generation of skilled tradespeople learning on our build sites.

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Carpenter to oversee residential construction projects in the Moncton area while mentoring students through an innovative carpentry program being delivered in partnership with the Carpentry Millwright College of NB (CMC).

About the Role
This position combines hands-on construction leadership with meaningful mentorship. You will supervise a build site, ensure high-quality workmanship, and guide students as they gain practical, real-world experience in the trades.
You will also support project coordination through administrative responsibilities such as inspections, site safety, and compliance. You will be reporting directly to our Habitat NB Construction Director.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day operations on Habitat build site
• Ensure construction work meets safety, quality, energy efficiency, and building code standards
• Mentor and support students participating in the trades training program along with two instructors from CMC
• Foster a positive, team-oriented, and inclusive work environment
• Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and partners on-site
• Assist with project documentation, including inspections and site safety reporting
• Maintain a safe and organized worksite at all times

Qualifications & Experience
• Licensed Red-seal Carpenter (required)
• Minimum 10 years of residential construction experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Interest in mentoring and training students
• Solid computer skills (documentation, communication, reporting)
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
• Use of own vehicle will be required. Mileage will be reimbursed.
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required
