Job Description:
Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
Discuss work with supervisor
Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
Inspect motor in operation
Review work orders
Road test motor vehicles
Test automotive systems and components
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
Repair or replace mechanical units or components
Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
Perform scheduled maintenance service
Test and adjust units to specifications
Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Requirements
Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician are required.
Valid driver’s license (class 7 or class 5) is required for vehicle testing and driving.
Work site environment: Dusty, Hot, Noisy, Odours, Wet/damp.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling.
Personal suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Dependability, Excellent oral and written communication, Flexibility, Judgement, Reliability, Team player.
Language: English is required.
Salary: $36.60 per hour, 40 hours per week.
Benefits: Dental and health care plan, disability and group insurance benefits, and uniforms provided by the employer.
Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The regular work schedule will be from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Overtime hours may be required depending on the business needs.
