I'm a Seneca College Professor with a McGill University music degree and 20 years of teaching experience.
Teaching isn't just theory for me — I compose, record, and perform regularly and I love music! I bring real-world musicianship into every lesson. I'm also a published composer and songwriter. I've released multiple albums under the name Heartburn Hero — blending neoclassical, fusion, rock, and contemporary styles. I also compose and teach orchestral classical music.
My students progress faster because I focus on the Foundation-First Method: proper technique, ear training, and understanding why music works, not just memorizing shapes. Everything clicks faster when the fundamentals are solid and can be communicated to the student in a few different ways to make it stick!
