Part-Time Seamstress
(Intermediate–Advanced)

Location: Ajax, Ontario (In-Studio Preferred | Remote Option Available)
Hours: 10–15 hours per week to start (potential to increase)
Industry: Fashion – Bikinis & Lingerie
We are a growing fashion brand based in Ajax, ON specializing in custom bikinis and lingerie. We are seeking a skilled, efficient, and detail-oriented Seamstress with intermediate to advanced sewing experience, specifically in stretch fabrics and garment construction from scratch.
This role involves custom builds (not alterations), and the ideal candidate must be confident working independently while maintaining luxury-level quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
Fashion students are welcome to apply, but must already possess strong technical sewing skills and be open to coaching and professional feedback.

Responsibilities
• Construct bikinis and lingerie pieces from patterns to finished garment
• Work confidently with stretch fabrics (spandex, lycra, mesh, elastics)
• Operate serger (overlock) and coverstitch machines efficiently
• Sew clean, professional finishes suitable for luxury garments
• Install elastics properly with consistent tension
• Maintain symmetry and precision in small, detailed pieces
• Meet production deadlines without sacrificing quality
• Participate in fittings and provide technical input when needed

Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum 2 years sewing experience (lingerie/swimwear experience strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of stretch fabric handling and tension control
• Ability to construct garments from scratch (not just alterations)
• Confident using:
• Serger (4-thread overlock)
• Coverstitch machine
• Ability to read and follow patterns accurately
• High attention to detail and clean finishing techniques
• Efficient and organized workflow
• Reliable, punctual, and professional

Work Structure & Compensation
In-Studio (Ajax, ON):
• Paid hourly
Remote Option:
• Paid per piece
• Must have access to professional-grade equipment (serger coverstitch required)
• Must demonstrate consistent quality before being assigned volume
