Apprentice Carpenter

Northern Tropic Homes Ltd is looking for a Full Time Apprentice Carpenter to join our growing team. Preferably someone who has moderate experience/some schooling.
We want someone interested in carpentry, who wants to go through the apprenticeship program and become a .
Starting wage is between 22$/h - 30$/h - Negotiated, based on prior experience and schooling. Full benefits package after 6 months employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with install of sunrooms, solariums, patio covers, etc. to residential buildings - Guided by a lead carpenter.
• Assist with glass glazing and glass installation to walls and roof systems - Guided by a lead carpenter.
• Assist with the install of structures such as doors, windows, hardware, locks, etc.
• Measure, cut and fix wood and aluminum materials - Guided by a lead carpenter
• Construct building frameworks, including: footings, support beams, floor joists, and door frames, etc. - Guided by a lead carpenter
• Use of power tools and equipment such as drills, saws, nail guns, etc.
• Perform all work and duties in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by lead carpenter and/or general manager
• Complete work in a timely manner with efficiency and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in carpentry, and/or glass glazing is preferred - Prior schooling in carpentry (1st Year-3rd Year Apprentice)
• Drivers Licence is preferred
• Capable able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrate ability to set priorities and stay on task
• Strong communications skills. Polite and courteous to customers
• Be reliable. Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Be able/willing to work outdoors, lift heavy materials, climb ladders, use tools/equipment, etc.
• Be willing to use the Buildertrend app (Clocking in/out, daily communications, etc.)
