Winch Truck Driver
Description
Longshot Services is looking for a dependable Class 1 Winch Truck Driver to join our team.
This position involves hauling and moving site shacks and drilling equipment throughout southwest Manitoba and southeast Saskatchewan.
Position Details:
Full‑time work from end of May to mid‑March
Mid‑March to end of May consists of shop time and equipment maintenance
Overtime paid after 8 hours
Start date: Beginning of May or later
Requirements:
Valid Class 1 driver’s license
Able to provide a current driver’s abstract
Clean shaven (required for site and safety compliance)
Willing to work early mornings and weekends
Able to work well with others and follow directions
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to think on the fly
Willing to obtain or maintain:
First Aid
H2S
TDG
WHMIS
Work Expectations:
Winch truck work isn’t just driving. Duties include:
Climbing on decks:
Handling chains, winches, and binders
Working outdoors in all weather conditions
Assisting with truck and trailer maintenance, including:
Greasing
Oil changes
Inspections and general upkeep
Experience
Winch truck experience is an asset
Willing to train the right Class 1 driver
3‑month training period
May be waived if you can prove your ability
Work Schedule & Travel:
Most of the time you are home daily
Occasional overnight trips
Accommodations may be provided, depending on the situation
