Agricultural / Cattle Ranch Manager (NOC 80020)
Location: Bulkley–Nechako Region, British Columbia
Salary: $20/hr.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full‑time
Start Date: October, 2026

Job Requirements:
Languages: English
Education: College diploma or university degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Plant Science, or Ranch Management.
Experience: 3-5 years in cattle ranch management and 3-5 years in beef- and forage-product-focused agricultural operations.
1-2 years of experience in reading and interpreting soil and forage samples.
Horsemanship skills – Riding, Roping, Doctoring, Branding, Shoeing, and Trimming.
Class B CDL or equivalent
3-5 years of experience operating various equipment, including tractors, square balers, round balers, rotary hay mowers, swathers, hay rakes, loaders, excavators, and dozers.
Work Site Environment: Outdoors; all weather conditions; very remote, rural area
Work Setting: Cattle ranch; on‑site housing may be available
Job Duties
• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate ranch operations, including cattle herd management and forage production.
• Develop and implement breeding programs, calving schedules, and herd‑health protocols.
• Monitor livestock health, nutrition, and welfare; arrange veterinary care when required.
• Oversee pasture rotation, grazing plans, feed rations, and winter feeding programs.
• Supervise, train, and schedule ranch hands and seasonal workers.
• Operate and maintain ranch equipment, machinery, fencing, barns, and water systems.
• Maintain livestock inventory, breeding records, feed usage logs, and production data.
• Ensure compliance with livestock, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.
• Manage budgets, cost controls, and procurement of feed, supplies, and equipment.
• Coordinate logistics for livestock sales, transportation, and marketing.
• Implement sustainable ranching practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage weed and pest control program
