About the Role
As one of our valued Billing Team members prepares to retire at the end of December, Client is seeking a
seasoned and detail-oriented Transportation Billing Clerk to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position
ideal for someone with a positive attitude, strong administrative and billing experience, and a background in
the transportation or logistics industry.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing operations,
supporting the transportation department through meticulous data management and effective communication
with internal teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Invoice Processing: Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices for transportation services (freight
charges, ancillary fees, etc.) using billing and transportation management systems (TMS).
* Documentation Verification: Verify shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists, driver timesheets)
for accuracy and completeness regarding rates, weights, and destinations.
* Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies by coordinating with internal
departments (dispatch, operations, customer service) and external carriers or customers.
* Data Entry and Filing: Perform high-volume, accurate data entry into accounting and logistics software
systems and maintain organized billing records.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or
business administration is an asset.
* Experience: Proven experience in a billing or general administrative role; prior experience in the
transportation or logistics industry is required.
Technical Skills:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
* Experience with billing or accounting software, particularly Truck Mate, is preferred.
Soft Skills:
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Other Requirements: Must be a Permanent Resident/citizen
