Sign Electrician & Installer
Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Sign Electrical Technician/Installer to join our field crew. This isn't just a "hanging signs" job; we need a technical problem-solver who is comfortable operating heavy equipment and troubleshooting electrical systems. You will be the face of our company on-site, ensuring every project is installed safely, functions perfectly, and looks sharp.
Key Responsibilities
• Installation & Service: Install, maintain, and repair a variety of signs including channel letters, pylon signs, cabinets, and electronic message centers (EMCs).
• Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair primary and secondary electrical issues (LEDs, transformers, ballasts, and neon).
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate bucket trucks, crane trucks, and man-lifts at heights often exceeding 40 feet.
• Site Safety: Maintain a clean job site and adhere to all OSHA and company safety regulations.
• Communication: Coordinate with project managers and provide clear, professional updates to clients on-site.
What You Bring to the Table
• Industry Expertise: Proven experience in the sign industry is a must. You should know the difference between a raceway and a standoff.
• Mechanical Skills: Proficient with power tools, welding (a plus), and general construction methods.
• The Technical Stuff: Strong ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
• Clear Communication: Fluent in English (written and verbal) to ensure safety and client satisfaction.
Requirements
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and at significant heights.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Certification an Asset: Electrical journeyman license or UL certification is highly preferred and will be reflected in compensation.
Why Join Us?
• Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
• Reliable equipment and a focus on safety.
• Full Benefits after probationary period of 3 months
