Position Summary
We are hiring a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our sand hauling operations. This role keeps our day-to-day accounting clean and current—processing vendor invoices, reconciling bank/credit accounts, supporting payroll submissions, tracking receivables, and assisting management with weekly cash flow projections.

Role Details
Position Type: Part-time (12–24 hours per week)
Work Location: Grande Prairie Office
Schedule: Flexible hours within business days; consistent weekly cadence required
Compensation: $25–$35 per hour based on experience

Key Responsibilities
• Accounts Payable (AP): enter and code vendor bills, match to purchase orders/work orders where applicable, manage approvals, and prepare payment runs.
• Accounts Receivable (AR): prepare/send invoices where needed, track customer payments, follow up on overdue accounts, and maintain an up-to-date receivables list.
• Bank & credit card reconciliations: weekly/bi-weekly reconciliations and clean month-end close support.
• Payroll support & remittances: collect time sheets, verify hours/allocations, prepare payroll submission package, maintain payroll records, and assist with payroll remittances (e.g., CRA source deductions and related reporting) in coordination with the payroll provider/accountant.
• Job / unit tracking support: help allocate expenses by truck/unit/driver/job where information is available; flag missing details early.
• Haul ticket entry & verification: enter/verify daily haul tickets/loads in the dispatch system (e.g., Axon), reconcile tickets to customer billing, and flag missing or mismatched job details early.
• GST remittance support: maintain GST coding integrity and prepare GST return/remittance information (and/or filings) for review/approval by management/accountant.
• Maintain organized digital records: invoices, receipts, fuel statements, repairs, lease/loan documents, and customer billing support.
• Support the year-end process: provide clean reconciliations, documentation, and accountant-ready reports.
Qualifications
• 2 years of bookkeeping experience (trucking or construction preferred).
• Strong accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
• Comfort handling confidential information with professionalism.
• Able to communicate clearly with dispatch, shop, and management to resolve missing details.
