Hello! My name is Darren, and I have been a tutor for almost a decade. I specialize in tutoring high school students in mathematics and ELA. I also have plenty of experience tutoring younger students, grades 3 to 9, in the same subjects.

I attended the University of Lethbridge in their mathematics program and later set my sights on the Vancouver Film School to enroll in their writing program. In the two institutions, I have garnered a modicum of communication skills and a diverse educational background. I provide one-on-one tutoring. I find this method the most effective for conducting a productive and personalized lesson. Not all students learn the same, and with my experiences, I have accrued a wide range of teaching methods.

My rate starts at $40 an hour. I offer my services in-person at Calgary’s select Libraries and online tutoring on platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and Discord. Amongst this, my first class is FREE. This first class includes a few minutes to talk with parents and students together. I want to make sure where your goals align, so I can create a lesson plan to fit your needs.
