Aged Hardwood Sawdust (a rare find)

Aged Sawdust is prized by gardeners as it gives the benefits of sawdust without being as nitrogen hungry as fresh sawdust.

Excellent for:
- Mulching/reducing weeds,
- Making pathways in your garden,
- Adding to compost with a high nitrogen content (lots of greens, grass/leaves/weeds or manure),
- Making dense soils more workable,
- Improving water retention,
- Bedding for chicken coop or worm bins,
- And lots more.

This is a versatile product for areas where you want to be able to work it into the soil right away rather than waiting years or having to add the large amount of nitrogen as you would need with fresh sawdust.

As natural and as local as it gets. This sawdust came directly from our firewood processor which uses a circular saw so it is free of the chain saw oil residue common with smaller processors. In cleaning up our back yard we unearthed 50 yards of old hardwood sawdust that has been untouched at the bottom of the sawdust pile. We screened out any large pieces and now have it in our front yard ready for pickup or delivery.

This is a bulk product for pickup ($32.00/yard or $16.00/half yard taxes included) but with advance notice we can bag it for you. The bags would be $8.50 each and contain 2.1 cubic foot (60 litres) of material.
