Woodchips - Premium: A Natural, cost effective way to add beauty to your yard

Our Premium Woodchips are made from solid wood. Compared to our Econo Woodchips these chips are slightly larger and more consistent in size to reduce compaction and provide a longer life. They are typically used as mulch, for trails (except on steep hills) and in playgrounds (around playground equipment having adequate depth is important and specifications should be checked before you start your project). The size is typically 1/4''- 1” thick and 3/4''- 4" long.

Woodchips:
1. Reduce Watering - Greatly slow down soil moisture loss
2. Reduce Weeding - Compete with shallow rooting weeds for nitrogen in the soils surface. This makes them excellent for deep root plants such as shrubs and trees as well as for mulched paths.
3. Age to a lovely silver/gray without the need of any colouring
4. Lasts for years
5. Are more cost effective than coloured mulches
6. Are 100% Nova Scotian as they don't require colourants that have to be imported
7. Are renewable and come from our local forests

Caution
1. As fresh woodchips and sawdust will absorb nitrogen from the soil they are in direct contact with, you do not want to mix them into a garden or place them over seeds you are trying to germinate.
2. You can make paths of woodchips in a garden but do not till them into your garden until they are fully decomposed unless you are adding a source of nitrogen to accelerate the composting process.

We sell our Premium Woodchips in bulk for $44.00 per yard and $22.00 per ½ yard, tax included. We also offer discounts for orders over 50 yards.

We stock the Premium Woodchips in 2.3 cubic foot bags for $8.50 tax included.
