Grading companies use different terms to describe "Paper condition".
Hear are the terms used by these graders;
PMG.....EPQ, Exceptional Paper Quality
BCS.....ORG, Original Paper Quality
CCCS.....This company never grades paper quality, so it could be anything.
LEGACY.....PPQ, Premium Paper Quality.

NOW LOOK CLOSLEY AT ALL THE 1870 and 1923 NOTES, ALL BUT ONE HAS ONE OF THESE DESIGNATIONS !!!!
These notes are 155 and 102 YEARS OLD and still have the same paper quality as the day they were printed, even while showing some wear as noted by the grades. Top points you gat get when grading banknotes is "70".
Pretty much all of my notes has one of these designations !


THESE FIRST 6 NOTES ARE " DOMINION OF CANADA " NOTES.
Bank of Canada was formed in 1934 and 1935 banknotes were the first series printed.

1) 1870 $0.25 Shinplaster plain series GRADED PMG EF45 EPQ, DC-1c, Dickinson-Harington
Cut Off Center, shows a second note. Note is also Cut Off Size but not noted !
ONLY 300,000 Plain series notes were printed 155 YEARS AGO !!!

2) 1900 $0.25 Shinplaster GRADED CCCS AU55 , DC-15b, Boville
EXCELLENT note, Paper shows clean, well centered and GREAT corners!!

3) 1900 $0.25 Shinplaster GRADED BCS EF40 ORG, DC-15c E25a-i, Saunders
Cut off Size !!VERY nice note !

4) 1923 $0.25 Shinplaster GRADED BCS EF45 ORG, DC-24a, Hyndman-Saunders
"AUTHORIZED" Check Letter B. VERY nice note with good corners and shows well. only 510,000 notes printed 102 years ago!!!!

EXTREMELY nice EF40 !! 5.1 Million notes printed.

These next two notes are my favorites due to the artwork and size !!! They are LARGE in comparison to any others.
I really like the various colours used on the seals!
THE $2 NOTE IS MY FAVORITE!!!!

6) 1923 $1 Dollar GRADED BCS CUNC64 ORG, DC-25i, McCavour-Saunders
Bronze seal, Group 2, Series B, Check Letter C.
This a LARGE series banknote with 19.1 Million notes printed, even so, they are very much in demand
in high grades

7) 1923 $2 DOLLAR GRADED PMG CHOICE AU58, DC-26j, Campbell-Seller
Black Seal, Group 3, Series T-U.
Note the holder says "Series T,U,V" However Charlton shows "V" as it's own Series.
There were 8,000,000 of the T-U Series AND only 1,200,00 notes printed in the V Series. Yes, I wish this were a V Series!
ALSO note this is a CHOICE AU58, only 2 points away from an Uncirculated UNC60 note valuation.

8) 1954 $1 GRADED BCS CUNC63 ORG, BC-37bA, Beattie-Rasminsky
This note is quite rare and unique. Look carefully at the right side "*" (Asterisk).
These asterisks indicate that this note is a replacement, something went wrong on the original printed note with this serial number.
So how funny is it that the replacement note has an error as well and was not detected.
The right side asterisk is lower that the left side. this should be impossible as the serial numbers are printed at the same time?
I have only seen one note ever with lowered asterisks, that note sold on TCNC Auction , Prominence Sale, APRIL 24/2025.
IT WAS LOT NUMBER 809A. It had both asterisks lowered, sold for $1314.50 which included a buyers premium of 19.5%, so net
selling price was about $1100. It was graded by Legacy as GUNC65 PPQ. Two points higher than my note which has only one
asterisk lowered. You can go on the TCNC website, look at Archives and search the auction that I noted to verify my info. Or call me and I'll walk you through it.

9) 1954 $1 GRADED CCCS AU55, BC-37d, Lawson-Bouey.
Another never seen before note. On this note the Queen has "Grey Hair" as noted on holder.
I have added a photo of this note with a regular dark hair note, you be the judge! Ask yourself (honestly) if you have ever seen
another like it.
I once had a $50 Polymer note with a prefix that started with the letter A. Only the left A was much smaller than the right A.
I only ever saw a handful of this variety and only with the same three letter prefix.
