Job Description:
We are a grain farm in Canora, Saskatchewan, seeking a skilled Farm Worker with a valid Class 1A license to haul gravel during the summer and assist with grain harvest operations in the fall. This seasonal role requires expertise in operating heavy trucks and farm machinery to ensure efficient operations during peak farm seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
• Haul gravel and other materials using trucks requiring a Class 1A license (e.g., semi-trucks, tandem trucks) during summer months (July–August).
• Operate farm equipment during the harvest season (August–October).
• Assist with grain handling, storage, and transport to elevators, lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.
Requirements:
• Valid Class 1A license (required for gravel hauling).
• Experience hauling heavy loads (e.g., gravel, grain) with Class 1A vehicles.
• Experience operating farm machinery (tractors, combines).
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including long hours during harvest (6–7 days/week, August–October).
• Reliable, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Must have own transportation to the farm (Canora, SK, rural location).
• No formal education required; agricultural or trucking experience is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with grain crop operations (e.g., wheat, canola) and harvest tasks.
• Knowledge of precision agriculture tools (e.g., GPS, auto-steering) for efficient harvesting.
• Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting equipment issues (e.g., hydraulic systems, clutch maintenance).
