The main function of the carpenter is to fulfill the scope of work on site.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position is for someone with 5-8 years of experience, who is solution oriented, and sees problems as an opportunity to learn. This role is for someone who has a “no problems, just solutions mentality”. Someone who can anticipate problems and challenges ahead of time and address them prior to. The duties include the following:
- Job site safety and cleanliness
- Provide a daily update of what was completed and what still needs to be completed
- Help with material delivery
- Ensure quality of work being completed is up to Macam Living standards
- Develop and/or improve processes for a more efficient operation.
- Report any unforeseen problems

Qualifications
 5-8 years' experience of carpentry
 Skilled with basic hand tools (hammer, drill, pouch, skill saw, Sawzall, etc.)
 Access to a vehicle and can drive to different job sites
 Must be able to work independently
 Detailed oriented
 Strategic thinker / Problem solving skills
Technical skills – Capable to read plans, record completed tasks and fill out time sheet
Leadership – Maintaining a healthy working relationship with clients, trades, and suppliers. Be able to encourage trades to work together for the best interests of the end goal.
Communication – Being able to articulate the process, procedures, and next steps both verbally and in writing. Be aware of and use appropriate language.

Working conditions/location
 Employee may be required to work beyond normal working hours.
 Comfortable being in -30 - 30 temperatures.
 Job sites located across the Ottawa region and surrounding areas
Physical requirements
 Strength capacity: This person must be able to carry a minimum weight of 50lbs.
 Mobility: This person must be capable of walking along uneven ground, able to function on their knees, climbing up and down ladders, and be comfortable at heights.
 Vision and hearing¬: Having the capability to see and hear are imperative.
 Psychological expectations: This person is expected to make decisions that are in the best interest of the end goal, maintain composure under pressure, collaborate with trades, pay attention to the details, and maintain Macam Livings standard of quality.
