A first for us here, now waiting for his forever home, please meet Honey!

Honey is a 17 year old jaw dropping Irian Jaya Carpet Python! This old man has been through ALOT as evidenced by the scarring on his body. He also had a broken jaw at one point, but his earliest history traced back, this is a several year old injury that at this point there is nothing that can be done. It does not affect him though! Honey is a very busy little snake who enjoys his exploration but is very "twitchy". He went a long time without human interaction and is only now learning. Due to this he is quiet jumpy and is defensive when pulling him out of the enclosure. He has tagged our staff once during a removal from the enclosure. Though when he is out, he is a very happy and gentle snake, even if he's twitchy. Honey came to us with the worst infestation of snake mites we have ever seen in our years of operation. He has since been treated, and had every icky little bug removed from him. He has had a great shed and been inspected for several weeks to ensure he no longer has any mites on him. Honey will do best in a home that is comfortable with the idea of being tagged. Because of his defensiveness when being removed, potential adopters will be required to remove him from his tank unassisted to ensure they are the correct home. Failure to remove on their own will result in a declined adoption. We cannot ethically send an animal to a home where the owners are afraid to touch and work with him.

Honey is a hovering towards the plump side and is on a diet of a small F/T rat every 3 - 4 weeks. He is not obese but we would like to see him trim out a bit. He does not turn down meals though! Honey does not come with an enclosure and one will need to be provided for him. He will require multiple hides, a large sized water dish, and all kinds of fun things for him to explore and climb over. He will need regulated heating as well as proper humidity. He will need appropriate belly heat regulated with a thermometer and regulator. If EXTENSIVE research is done and shown in the application, we may allow alternative heat sources however if you REFUSE to use a regulator we REFUSE to adopt to you. Honey's adoption fee is $75.00.

In order to take Honey home, proof of proper enclosure is required. Please respond to this ad and we will return the proper adoption forms and information to you. If you are unwilling to fill out our forms, please do not bother to reply.

We are located in Drayton Valley and while we encourage pick up we do offer delivery (once the adoption has been processed and approved) with a fee based on mileage and current gas prices. We require payment in full prior to leaving. All documentation must be filled out prior to anything to protect both parties and our animals.
