We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our team in maintaining our fleet and external clients. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure our vehicles are in optimal condition for daily service. The ideal candidate will have experience with both domestic and imported vehicles, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and identify vehicle problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on the company's fleet vehicles and external clients..
• Analyze diagnostic test results and plan repair procedures accordingly.
• Adhere to a thorough inspection procedure.
• Respond to service calls as required by the company.
• Take full ownership of required maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure maintenance is completed on time.
• Maintain the fleet vehicles for daily service, ensuring they are safe and reliable.
• Perform basic auto care and maintenance, such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotations.
• Conduct more in-depth repairs, including transmission and engine changes.
• Keep the shop clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirement:
• Certified/licensed Automotive Technician.
• 2-5 years of related experience.
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
• Possession of general tools is an asset.
• Experience working with hybrid vehicles is preferred.
• Valid Driver's Licence (Class 4, 2, or 1 considered an asset).
• Physically fit and able to lift machine parts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal communication skills.
• CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License is an asset but not required.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and under supervision.
• Must be able to work one weekend day per week.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements as per Alberta's regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
