One part-time day position (in private home) available immediately for female caregiver/companion.
Schedule needed: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30am to 3pm
My name is Meaghan, I'm a university educated young woman (33yo) living with Muscular Dystrophy and in a wheelchair. I live in the West End of Halifax, in an apartment.
You must be vaccinated against covid, be fluent in speaking English, be able to understand English directions well, and a nonsmoker.
I have some hearing loss, so you have to speak clearly (no mumbling).
You must be physically and mentally able to do this job. You have to be comfortable handling a guinea pig and not severely allergic to hay or essential oils.

Duties include:
- personal care, toileting, dressing (no heavy lifting; I have a ceiling lift)
- light housekeeping
- cooking
- shopping with me (no vehicle needed)
- companionship (I need emotional support, so a cheerful and supportive disposition is needed, and someone close to my own age)

My biggest needs are somebody who,
Is emotionally supportive,
Is calm,
Is patient,
Doesn't mind curse words,
Has a sense of humour,
Is tidy
Has low anxiety
