The Oetjgoapeniag Elnoei Family Services is seeking to hire a qualified person to work in a position of Intake Social Worker of the Child Welfare Program. The position is located in the community of Elsipogtog First Nation, New Brunswick.

Position summary: Under the direction of the Intake Supervisor, you will become proficient with the duties of the Intake Social Worker in the area of Child Protection Services, focusing on assessing, prioritizing and responding to calls/reports of potential child abuse and/or neglect. Training and support will be provided. An After-hours Emergency Services component is also required at one-week intervals on a rotational basis several times per year.

Qualifications:

- A degree in social work and be a member (or eligible to become a member) of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW).
- A genuine interest in working with Mi'kmaq culture.
- A willingness to work as a team player.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- *Preference will be given to individuals with Native ancestry.


Salary & Benefits:
- Salary of $77,000 - $91,000 ( 17.6%) based on experience and qualifications
- Maternity Top up (up to 95%)

Duration: 1 YEAR TERM along with a 3-month probationary contract – that may lead to a fulltime position pending evaluation.
Requirements:
- Bachelors of Social Work degree
