This has been my personal kit, used in recording and live playing. I built this kit in 2017. The wood is from a Scugog birch tree. It took about 2 years to achieve the amazing spalted grain pattern and it is phenomenal. Any wood expert will attest to the difficulty in getting a result like this, mostly I see ads selling wood with minimal spalt pattern. You can't tell what you have until you cut into the log, so seeing the results I got was a huge win. The drums are a short stack design, meaning short depth on the toms. This gives a really clear tone for recording and they are also not crazy loud so they work great in small clubs where volume can be an issue. The 24” kick on the flip side has punch and lots of volume, also great for small clubs since I don't mic it up live. The snare is a 14X6”. The sale is for the drums and tom mounts only. This is a killer high end kit. I have been building and restoring drums since the 80's, and these are well built. The shells have steam bent re-rings which are inlaid into the shells which adds two glue surfaces for added strength. The clear finish is BASF two part automotive urethane and there is no rash or abuse present. If you need to hear them, I am sure I have a few videos on my Facebook page SAWdrums.
