J.E.B. Transport Ltd. in Taber Alberta is seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Hand/Service Writer to join our team. This role requires mechanical expertise, strong organizational abilities, and excellent customer service skills. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform basic mechanical tasks such as oil changes, tire changes/rotation, and assisting the head mechanic.
• Open and close work orders efficiently and accurately.
• Source and manage parts to maintain a seamless workflow.
• Track all maintenance purchases and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Prioritize mechanical tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Maintain detailed repair records for future reference.
• Locate and update warranty information, including processing claims.
• Collaborate with team members to support shop activities.
• Operating and maintaining power tools, machinery and equipment
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
o 1 year of experience as a Service Writer.
o 1 year of mechanical experience
o Experience in the trucking industry is an asset.
o Knowledge of AXON software is an advantage.
• Technical Proficiency:
o Strong command of Excel.
o Familiarity with shop tools and equipment.

Additional Requirements:
• Experience in a shop setting is essential.
• Previous experience in potato storage units is an asset.
• Willingness to work 40–44 hours per week, including Monday through Friday with Saturday availability (Saturday availability is mandatory).
• Physical capability to perform tasks including standing, lifting (up to 60 lbs.), bending, and climbing.
• Experience operating loaders, tractors, and skid steers is an asset.
• A valid class 3 or class 5 divers license (with airbrake endorsement is advantageous).
