Looking for one full time or two part time support worker(s). The workers are responsible for providing support to a young man to enable him to develop the skills to fulfill his goals and objectives and be a valued, contributing member of the community. The Support Worker(s) will report to Family Managed Funds Administrator. The number of hours vary around client's needs for support, and number of staff hired; at this time are 24-34 hours/week and wage is dependent on qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
Continue to support the individual to participate meaningfully in community activities which he is interested in and connect with other people who share those interests.
Assist with his Goals & Objectives to Independent & Daily Living Skills.
Should be interested in computer games, hockey, baseball, arts & crafts and cooking.
 Ensure the individual is treated with dignity and respect.
 Help him with identifying community resources (e.g. recreational clubs, libraries, community centers, etc.) he would like to use &/or continue to use.
 Assist with transportation to community programs, medical appointments and other events as required.
 Assist the individual with building relationships with community members.
 Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 Patience, time management skills and the ability to work independently.
 Good communication skills & assist Family Managed Administrator with yearly reports.
 A valid Class 5 driver's license & valid insurance; access to a reliable vehicle & have $2,000,000 liability insurance.
 First Aid and CPR certification.
 Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

Working Conditions: Work will occur within the individual's home and in the community.
