We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant with dementia/Alzheimers care training and experience. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing personalized care and support to an individual in need, including senior care, dementia care, and assistance with daily living activities. Your role will involve working closely with our mother in her dementia care residence at the Manor Village at Fish Creek Park, Calgary (weekend daytimes only, Saturday and Sunday).
Responsibilities:
- Assist client with personal care tasks such as grooming.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Construct daily activities to complement and add to the scheduled residence activities.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or behavior
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals
- Support client with mobility issues.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field preferred. One year minimum preferred experience with dementia/Alzheimers care.
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required in addition to HCA (HOME CARE ASSISTANT) certification from a recognized college/training institution and a focus on dementia care.
- Reliable transportation to travel to clients' locations
We are seeking an individual or individuals to work Saturday and Sunday (Weekends only) from 10am to 6pm. To begin immediately. Preferred start date: June 29 or July 6, 2024.
Pay range: $18.50 to $22.50 per hour depending on experience and training.
