Grace Baptist Church of Calgary seeks temporary summer program leaders for its after-school program from July 2nd to August 30th, 2024. The position is from Monday to Friday, with two available shifts: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm or 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. We seek fun and caring individuals who enjoy working with school-age children in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Qualifications:
We encourage you to apply if you meet all these qualifications:
• Be between 18 and 30 years of age
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
• Please note that due to specific regulations, international students are not eligible participants.
Additional qualifications:
The following are the requirements for this job position:
· Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR must have been recertified within the last 12 months) or must be willing to obtain it upon hire.
· You must provide evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search or must be willing to obtain it upon hire.
· You must provide two professional references.
· Alberta Childcare Staff Certification is an asset but is not required.
Job Description
The role involves working indoors and outdoors, and a willingness to learn and be mentored is essential.
The job responsibilities include:
· Planning and implementing engaging activities for children aged 5-12 in various areas such as the arts, science, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and physical literacy.
· Effective supervision and actively engagement with children during activities and field trips.
· Support the delivery of the curriculum and child development practices as per the Alberta Early Learning Childcare Act and Flight Curriculum Framework.
· Support the social-emotional development of children in a positive manner.
