This is Van Nuys built 1969 Camaro Z28 RS that spent its life in the southern US. Imported into Canada in Oct of 2020 where it then had a comprehensive rotisserie restoration which was completed in the fall of 2021. The car has never been chopped or modified and retains its original floor, trunk and body panels. The sub-frame and underside of the car show like new, evident of a southern rust-free car. It is painted its correct 51 Dusk Blue with white stripe colors. Car has PS, PB, has the front and rear spoilers and the functional cowl induction hood and air cleaner system. The RS trim package includes a number of aesthetic features primarily noted for the hidden headlights and alternative Camaro grill. Car has T3 lamps, the headlight door system has been converted to the more reliable Detroit Speed electrical system. The original vacuum system remains in place for aesthetic appeal. The DZ302 motor is period correct with all its correct DZ components. The pad has not been altered, its an original Norwood Assembly Plant motor, all numbers remain intact. The motor is dated Nov 68, the car was built the 4th week of Jan 69. The motor has a few performance upgrades such as a DZ spec custom ground roller cam, roller rockers and a Pertronix ignition/distributor system. The valve covers have been reskinned by Gerry MacNeish at Camaro High Performance LCC to look as they were when the car was delivered. Motor has long tube headers, a dealer option back in the day. The exhaust piping is a custom fitted 2 ½” polished SS Magnaflow system. The M21 transmission was rebuilt and the shifter was also overhauled so it has a nice tight and positive shift pattern. The 12 bolt posi rear axle has 3:73 gears and was also thoroughly checked and freshened up during the restoration. Sits on 15” Rally Wheels that were restored this past winter, 5 brand new correct E70/15 Goodyear Wide Track GT tires (Z28 only) were installed as well. The restoration included a complete all new “Legendary” interior. Interior accessories includes the 8000 rpm tach, the console gauge package, rosewood wheel, tilt column, the car was not optioned to include a clock or radio (radio delete). All of the chrome and SS trim are in excellent like-new condition. Everything on the car is either new, restored and re-done to a high quality/standard. I have proof of Arizona origin, the import paperwork and some historical information on the car. I have owned the car for 2 years, it may have been driven 200 miles since the restoration was completed and I have done a significant amount of new work during that time to compliment the restoration. I can say without hesitation, this car is spotless from the top to bottom with attention placed on the small details. Appreciate any interest in the car but I am not looking for any sort of trade and do not need opinions or unwanted comments from well meaning enthusiasts. The car has been described accurately, if you are a serious buyer looking for a unique and well done Z, please contact me to discuss. Additional photo are available on request.
