The Valois Boating Club 1/2 Mile War Canoe Sterling Medallion is a prestigious award crafted by Birks from sterling silver. This vintage medallion is caste in sterling silver and enamel, red, blue and white and measuring approximately 3.8cm round and weighs 16.07 grams. Club started in 1886 and torn down in 1933 due to the depression was close to Pointe Claire, actual first name Valois Bay Boat Club. The medallion is engraved on the back C.C.A. (Canadian Canoe Association) 1st 1/2 Mile War Canoe, won in 1925 with also a 3rd place finish, crews started at 10 to 18 and boat approximately 25 to 35 feet long. Rare one of kind medallion with maybe 10 to 18 crew so very few out there, have not cleaned it but should shine up beautifully and enamel is in wonderful condition.
