Clifton Spokeshaves are among the most robust and beautiful spokeshaves available today. Made from virtually unbreakable spheroidal graphite iron, they are machined and highly polished to create a tool that is aesthetically appealing, comfortable to use, easy to adjust, and performs exceptionally well. They can be set to take thick shaping cuts or delicate finishing shavings. The blades, measuring 2-1/8" wide, are made from cryogenically treated O1 steel, hardened to 60-62 Rockwell C, and lapped to 0.125" thick. These blades hold a superior edge while remaining easy to sharpen. The blades are ground to 30 degrees. The blade is seated against a milled bed set at 45 degrees and adjusted via a thumbscrew blade adjuster, allowing for chatter-free cuts and fine depth-of-cut adjustments. Hobbyist, lightly used.
