Hello,

My name is Rebecca, and I teach reading comprehension to both secondary and post-secondary students.

I have completed a masters in philosophy and am currently pursuing a paralegal diploma at Seneca.

My approach is unique in that I teach how to think and read structurally and use logical reasoning to strengthen reading comprehension. I also work on grammar, vocabulary, memory, speed, stamina, and focus and concentration.

In working with so many students, I had realized that a major weakness in reading lies in getting bogged down by the details of a passage and that too much emphasis is placed on content.

Practice makes perfect only if we are using the right technique and method.

Once students have the right method, they become smarter, read faster, and their grades and scores dramatically increase.

Having strong reading comprehension is the key to getting smarter and raising IQ and confidence.

I have developed my own curriculum, lesson plan, and materials. My rate is $25/h, but I do use a sliding scale in case a student has financial difficulty. The lessons can be over Zoom or in-person.

I enjoy trying to bring out the best in mental abilities so that students can have as many opportunities made available to them that life has to offer.
