I am 42. Neurodivergent & on Income Assistance. My current residence is temporary (family) and I am really needing to move as soon as I can. It's a difficult and mentally taxing situation for everyone involved and I also desperately need my own space. (My own room as I am currently sleeping on their sofa with zero privacy)
I'm looking for work but as I'm also seeking funding for school I am limited in the hours I'm able to work. (19 a week) With IA I am able to make $726 (if I sign a lease.) Otherwise if I am put down as a boarder I'll keep my current amount of $629. I can get food through the food bank and when I start working, I have an employment support worker assisting me, I may be making a little more.
I know this is still quite low as most places / rooms to for $800 - $900 but I am desperate. I don't have any pets or children. I am typically quiet unless excited. I can clean and though I don't cook often I am open to learning. Assistance is willing to help pay for deposit and first month's rent. I just want somewhere queer friendly and queer in general. Clean and on the bus route as I do not drive. Laundry facilities in the apartment would be ideal. (Preferably not coin laundry)
