One bright, furnished bedroom (and adjacent lounge room/ office) will soon be available in this spacious 3.5 story back-split in a quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of the UofG. Location:
The house is located on a quiet crescent near Kortright and Gordon within the Hanlon Creek Neighbourhood. Grocery stores, cafes, public green spaces, and other amenities are within 10 minute's walking distance. The bus stop for the #7 Kortright-Downey route (goes directly to the University Center) is located within two-minute's walking distance, and Kortright-Gordon bus stop is within five-minute's walking distance.
Lease:
- 1-year rental term (starting Sept 1 2025)
- Utilities and high-speed internet included
- Bedroom: $950/month
- Bedroom Additional Room: $1800/month
Bedroom Details:
The bedroom is 13'6 x 8'9, furnished, and has a large window and closet.
Additional Room Details:
A private room adjacent to the furnished bedroom is also available. It's 13 x 12 sqft, well-lit, has a large closet, and would be perfect for use as a lounge room or (oversized) office. While we could keep this space for personal use, it's much more house than we need. Our ideal scenario would be for one person to rent both rooms. This could be a great alternative for someone wanting the space of a high-end, two-bedroom apartment at a more affordable price point. You'd have a private bathroom. The kitchen would remain shared, but we're light kitchen users... and who knows, you might even like us ;)
Current Occupants:
The home is occupied by a young couple (myself and my partner) and our dog. We work full time (PhD student and veterinarian), and spend most of our downtime outdoors, exercising, gardening, and playing board games. We're quiet, friendly but respectful of personal space, and we like to keep a tidy home. Our dog is a 5-year-old, large-breed (beauceron cross?), recently-adopted addition to the family. He's an intelligent, watchful, and sensitive boy who is working hard to build confidence around strangers. He's interested in meeting new people but requires additional time and space to feel safe, so he's best suited for a housemate who is compassionate, comfortable around large dogos, and interested in building a friendly, low-key rapport.
Ideal Tenant:
This space is ideal for a mature and friendly individual who works days and prefers to maintain a quiet and clean living space. We're looking for someone who doesn't use fragrance (an unfortunate migraine trigger) and travels fairly light as there's no on-site parking or additional storage available. A solid sense of humour is very much appreciated, but not mandatory.
Parking:
We don't offer on-site parking; however, previous tenants with cars have parked curb-side in the summer and rented a neighbour's driveway spot during the winter.
