Looking for a mature dog as a companion for our older 12 pound dog. Must appreciate just how special felines are, and still be friends. There are chickens and geese that roam the yard. Everyone has to be peaceable. Can't chase large animals like cattle and llamas, either. No egg suckers!
The job is to bark at coyotes and vehicles in the driveway. Look tuff to the ravens that want chicken dinner, and to accompany the two leggers as they chore and garden in the yard. Food and a bed, plus a spot on the couch, will be provided. House training is preferred. When the humans go to work, dogs are most often left with an older lady - Auntie, so very little alone time is required. Both families have small homes, so 20 to 40 pounds is ideal. Pet need not be fixed, but must be in generally good health. We have 3 geriatric pets, and we can't afford another one on medications!
