Le Sonic Maximizer est un amélioreur à deux canaux conçu pour fonctionner avec des niveaux de -10 dBu.
Il fonctionne en appliquant une correction de phase aux hautes fréquences,
ce qu'il fait en divisant le son en 3 bandes, les fréquences de coupure étant de 150 Hz et 1200 Hz,
et en appliquant des retards aux deux bandes inférieures.
La bande haute passe par un VCA et est contrôlée par rapport à la bande médiane
Il existe deux modes : le mode 'Auto' fournit une réponse dynamique afin que le 422A étende ou compresse la bande haute par rapport à la bande médiane,
tandis qu'en mode 'Manuel', un rapport d'expansion prédéfini en usine est appliqué.
Chaque canal a un bouton Lo-contour et un bouton Definition.
Le Lo-contour est pour l'égalisation des basses à 50 Hz,
la Definition régule le traitement de la bande haute par rapport à la bande médiane et ajoute efficacement plus de haute fréquence.

The Sonic Maximizer is a dual channel enhancer designed to operate with -10dBu levels.
It works by applying phase correction to the high frequencies which it does by splitting the sound into 3 bands,
crossover frequencies being 150Hz and 1200Hz, and applying delays to the two lower bands.
The high band passes through a VCA and is controlled in relation to the mid band.
There are two modes - 'Auto' mode provides dynamic response so that the 422A expands or compresses the high band in relation to the mid,
while in 'Manual' a factory preset expansion ratio is applied.
Each channel has a Lo-contour and a Definition knob. Lo-contour is for bass EQ at 50Hz,
Definition regulates the processing of the high band in relation to the mid and effectively adds more top end.
