I am selling fresh cut rhubarb from our garden in central Edmonton - juicy, yummy, for baking and eating, be it for smoothies or for pies, crisps, crumbles, etc.. Save money and get better quality - not the limp stuff shipped in from out of province. And ours is totally organic - no preservatives or insecticides, or chemicals of any kind ... just home grown with the goodness of sun and rain. I have 2 varieties - the Canadian Red Rhubarb that has been the standard in Canada for many decades (1950's), and also Strawberry Rhubarb (a deeper red rhubarb, somewhat thinner and a touch sweeter), that gives a deeper red colour to your rhubarb creations (e.g. rhubarb wine). The Canadian Red is only $3.50/lb. I have noted retail prices at the stores where you are lucky enough to find it are from $4 to $5 (e.g. Walmart, H&W). And the Strawberry Rhubarb is $4.00/lb. We often cook with a combination of both for great taste and great looks.
