Job Description:

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Pastry Chef to join our team at our Italian and Portuguese bakery in Brampton. In this role, you'll focus on creating a wide range of traditional pastries and sweets—from rich custard tarts and flaky croissants to specialty cakes and seasonal desserts. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with a passion for European pastry, creativity, and pride in their craft.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and sweets, with a focus on Italian and Portuguese traditions
Produce high-quality items such as pastéis de nata, biscoitos, cannoli, tarts, and seasonal specialties
Decorate and finish pastries with attention to detail and consistency
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pastry area
Follow recipes while also contributing ideas for new offerings
Manage prep lists and daily production volumes to meet demand
Ensure all items are prepared in a timely manner for opening and service

Requirements:

1–2 years of experience as a pastry chef or baker specializing in pastries (preferred)
Familiarity with traditional Portuguese and Italian pastry is a strong asset
Knowledge of doughs, fillings, custards, and finishing techniques
Strong attention to detail, consistency, and quality
Ability to follow recipes and production schedules
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Availability for early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays
Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
