Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Bread Baker to join our team at our Italian and Portuguese bakery in Brampton. This role focuses exclusively on crafting a variety of traditional breads, from crusty Italian loaves to soft Portuguese rolls. You'll be responsible for mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking high-quality breads that our customers know and love.

Responsibilities:

Prepare a variety of breads from scratch daily, including Italian, Portuguese, and other traditional styles
Mix doughs using commercial mixers and manage fermentation times
Shape, proof, and bake breads to meet quality and consistency standards
Monitor oven temperatures and baking times for optimal results
Maintain cleanliness of the baking area and ensure proper food safety practices
Assist with inventory, prep lists, and minimizing waste
Work collaboratively with the team to meet daily production goals

Requirements:

Minimum 1–2 years of professional bread baking experience (preferred)
Strong understanding of fermentation, dough handling, and baking techniques
Familiarity with Italian and Portuguese bread styles is a strong asset
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
Physically able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods
Attention to detail, time management, and a passion for traditional baking
Team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude
