For sale, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette wheelchair accessible van. Current mileage is 125000 kms on the 3.4 V6. In good running condition for its age. Structurally and mechanically sound, drives and stops straight and true, no shakes or vibrations on the highway. Comes with two sets of tires (summer & winter) with 75 -90% tread left on each set. Work completed since I have owned it is new front struts and shocks, complete tune up with new plugs, air, fuel, cabin filters, and transmission fluid as well as engine flush and routine oil changes with synthetic oil. new headlight assemblies and bulbs in the front and rear headlights & taillights as well as new wiper blades front and back. Air conditioning serviced and recharged in 2024. Heating and a/c work well, blows hot and cold as it should. Brakes were replaced when I bought the van in 2021 as well as the air suspension system. Brakes have been serviced over the 15000 kms I have put on the van since owning it and when last inspected were in good condition. Bodywork has been done as a DIY project as body shops were not interested in doing the work. The body is now sound, with no holes or leaks.
Known issues currently are cruise control not working, the fan doesn't work on the 3rd speed setting, all other speeds work. My mechanic thinks the fan issue is a relay. Another issue is the driver's side window does not go down fully, probably needs to be realigned to the track. Windshield is cracked. There is a check engine light that relates to GM code P0446, a commonly known code for GM cars. It does not affect the drivability in any way and can be cleared to pass a safety.
I bought this van in particular because it was one of the only models that allowed the wheelchair to be put in the front seat. I wanted my mother to be able to sit upfront and not in the middle or back of the vehicle. There is an extra captains chair that could be used in the middle row or front seat. The interior overall is in excellent condition. No rips, tears or stains. The back seat can seat 3 people (seat belts for 3).
There is a motorized side ramp, but it is for a standard-sized wheelchair only. I used a 6-foot foldable oversized ramp to get my mother in and out as her chair was larger than standard that fits in the driver's side sliding door. The ramp will be included in the sale.
The van is 22 years old, so it is not perfect, but it has served my family well. It has been reliable and comes with extensive service records over the course of its life. It has low mileage is mechanically sound. The only issues for the safety would be the windshield and muffler. Other than those issues this would pass a safety. The price is $5000 which gives a budget of $2000 to fix the windshield and $500 for the muffler. Any auto glass shop will know about the issues with this generation GM van (Uplander, Montana, Silhouette and the Buick/Saturn vans). I feel the van would be worth $7500 certified so have adjusted the price for the repairs needed.
I am being fair and honest regarding the vehicle condition and price. It is currently licensed and insured so it can be taken for a test drive. The fastest response is by text to 289-990-8678. Lowballers and bots ignored. Please don't waste my time and yours by making ingenuine inquiries.
