In Canada, there's a dedicated group of volunteers who have been quietly rescuing abandoned Yorkshire Terriers since 1993. They are known as CYTA (Canadian Yorkshire Terrier Association Rescue).

This is a 100% non-profit organization, with no government funding. All medical care, spaying/neutering, fostering, and daily essentials are fully funded by the volunteers themselves —just so these dogs can have another chance at a loving life ❤️

CYTA is Now Urgently Looking For:

• Families to adopt
• Temporary foster homes
• ‍♀️ Volunteers to help with transport, care, and matching
• Supporters willing to donate to their care

Adoption Basics:

✅ Priority is given to homes in Southern Ontario, so that CYTA can step in if the adoption doesn't work out
✅ No puppies right now—they're mostly 4 years or older
✅ Some of them may bark or need help with house training—they just need a little patience and love
✅ A few are Yorkie mixes and may be slightly bigger than expected

But all of them have already received:
Full health check
Vaccinations
✂ Spay/neuter surgery
Grooming
Microchipping
