In the early 1800s, when spinet piano or harpsichord wires wore out, the frames were gutted and converted to desks, thus the name spinet desk. Many similar desks in the early 1900s. As a rule, they were made of mahogany, walnut or maple. This desk did not have a piano installed.
Excellent Condition. I've owned the desk for 40 years.
