We are rehoming our cat Riell, a beautiful approximately 3-year-old female brown/black tabby with bulby green eyes. She is neutered, has no known health issues, and has been living with us indoors since October 2024. Before that, she was feral and lived outside. As a result, she still carries major trust issues and has wildcat-like behavior at certain times. Key Info: • Neutered female • No known health problems • Licensed and enrolled under an organization including medical coverage – for emergencies are covered with a small donation fees, instead of full vet fees • Loves the outdoors – supervised outside time is a must ⚠️ Her Needs (Please Read Carefully): • NO dogs – she was previously traumatized by being chased by dogs • NO other cats or animals – she has attacked our older cat, leading to a serious infection and vet care • NO children – she is not safe around kids and cannot be in a chaotic environment • Ideal home: One-two patient, responsible adult willing to give her time, space, and daily engagement. This includes giving her time and space to adjust especially when she first enters the home (no playtime, relaxing environment, and a couple days to just explore the home) What Riel Requires: • Lots of space and time to adjust – she takes months, not days • At least 20 minutes of playtime a day • Safe, supervised outdoor time • Respect for her boundaries – she may scratch or bite when touched too soon, picked up, or startled • Someone who understands that love and healing takes time, especially with a cat who has been through a lot We are rehoming her because we no longer have the capacity to give her the full attention she needs. Her energy is too chaotic for our current home dynamic. We also have an older, calm cat who has already been injured once by her. We cannot risk more injuries—to him or ourselves. We are also planning for a family in the near future, and her aggression and unpredictability are not safe in that environment. Please understand: We love Riell deeply. She is a lovable cat in her own way. She has shown us affection and trust as best as she can from where she's at. We truly hoped this would work out. We believed with time and care, she would settle. But after almost 9 months of effort, it's clear that our home is not the right fit for her. We need someone who is truly ready for a long, patient, and possibly painful adjustment period, including scratches and bites. She will be scared at first. She may act out. But we believe that in the right home—with calm, consistent care—she could finally feel safe and loved in her own way. Please reach out only if you are serious about giving Riell a second chance. We will ask questions to ensure it's a good match. Serious inquiries only. Text or email to learn more at 431-277-2387 or RusselJBlinklater@gmail.com . She is come as is but we will charge a fee (tbd) to cover the drop-off by uber and another $30 reimbursement fee for the supplies we are giving in return . She will come with a collar, harness, cat litter box and some cat food. She uses wood pellets from Canadian tire in her litter box (the firewood one) and purina sensitive systems dry food with some wet food from friskies and the refrigerated cat food from PetSmart.
