1989 Orville by Gibson Les Paul Standard:

Made in 1989 (good wood era) by the incredibly skilled luthiers at the Tarada facility in Japan and originally meant for the Japanese market, this Les Paul is a perfect example of the amazing quality and craftsmanship that went into building these incredible guitars. In fact, many players consider these early OBG's easily on-par with their American counterparts and for very good reason.

This guitar has been very well cared for over its lifetime and shows only the bare minimum of surface wear (polishing swirls) with no dings, dents, chips, or heel repairs. Amazing, considering that this is a 36-year-old instrument! The vintage tuners, bridge, intonation screws and saddles are in excellent condition with a bit of naturally aged patina, and all work smoothy. Similarly, the frets are in excellent shape with almost no play wear. The neck is straight and the dark rosewood fretboard is completely free of blemishes. The guitar feels and plays beautifully up and down the neck with no dead spots. The truss rod moves smoothly in both directions with lots of room for adjustment. Currently setup with .009-.042 gauge D'Addario strings with nice, low action.

The guitar comes loaded with a lovely set of '80's DiMarzio PAF pickups, and gold speed knobs. The original pickups are not included. As an added bonus, the guitar comes with an original '80's Gibson "chainsaw" hardshell case, a $500 value. If you'd like it without the case, let me know as I'd be happy to accommodate.

* NOTE: Over time, the gold print on the original pickup selector "poker chip" has had some of the printed letters worn. Also, the factory pickup selector switch tip was a bit too cream-coloured for my tastes, so I replaced them both with Gibson genuine "vintage spec" parts. The original factory poker chip and cream switch tip are included in the case.

FEATURES:
- Long neck tenon
- Neck binding
- Nitro finish
- Vintage tuners and TOM bridge
- Mahogany set neck and mahogany body
- Indian rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays
- '80's DiMarzio PAF pickups (double cream)

Serious, reasonable, market value offers are always welcome. Lowball offers... meh.

I take great care with all of my guitars and this one is no different. If you need the guitar shipped, feel free to reach out and I'll provide you with a shipping quote. Please look closely at all of the photos and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Thanks!
