Kayaking is our family summer pass time and we bought this one for my older son since he outgrew his Pelican kid kayak, but by the time we got it, he grew even more, and he has completed outgrown it this year and we got an adult stand up board for him. We used this kayak three times last year in total, and we didn't use the paddle it came with. This kayak is more swift and agile than the Pelican kid one, our recommendation is for 8 , but it's all good.
