So you need your classic car appraised ?. What questions should I ask we looking for some one to appraise one of my prize possessions ?

• Q What should I look for in an appraiser
• A How much experience do they have. Do Insurance companies recognize there work.
• Q Are all appraisals the same are they done the same way and is price the only thing I have to consider.
• A No all appraisals are not done the same way many appraisers provide 1 or 2 page reports with very minimal detail with a couple of pictures. There is no verification to where the information was found. Remember you only get what you pay for.
• Q Is the appraiser been approved by the Ontario Courts why is that important
• A If I suffer a loss has the appraiser already been recognized as an expert with the court system if they have not that there report may also be in question and it is like having nothing at all

When in doubt most classic car insurance company's and brokers have a published list of recommended appraisers either on line or as part of there office records
